Porsche engineers are thinking at a new engine version like diesel one. They want to product a such engine in order to compete with other models from that segment wich offers same propellers.
Starting with this year Audi TT is available with a TDI engine of 2.0 liters, in the Roadster and convertible versions. The TDI TT engine wil develop a power of 170 HP, while the consumption is only 5.3 l/100 km. The new generation from Mercedes SLK might have a diesel propeller if the request will be sufficiently large. This is true also for BMW Z4, Bavarian engineers are ready to implement a diesel engine if needed. Porsche wants to be in vogue and they are ready for a changing, so they alreadt taken into consideration a diesel engine for the Boxter model. If Porsche Boxster will get a diesel engine, it will be the origin of Volkswagen-Audi and will develop 204 HP from a 2.0 l engine. The next generatin from Boxter will be launch at the end of 2011 or the begining of 2012.
We hope that the big manufacturers will not dissapoint us and the new engine generation from this concern will be able to convince us to renounce at that old or used cars that we focused by now.
